Hello Red Daisy Crafters, Welcome to the Tech 4 Stampers Blog Hop. It is my first time to join the blog hop. This month’s theme is “Sweet Treats”. You know how much I enjoy making and giving treats, so I created a quick and simple treat bag topper. After you check out my project, please scroll down and hop on over to the other bogs in the Hop. I know you will be inspired by these other amazing and creative designers.
treat topper instructions
Start with any cellophane or clear gift bag or you can get Stampin’ UP! Printed Gusseted Cellophane Bags, they measure 3″ x 9″.
The paper I selected from this treat holder is the Abstract Beauty 6″ x 6″ Designer Series Paper (DSP). Select a pattern and cut down to 3 1/2″ x 6″, then score the long edge at 3″.
Now, select a coordinating paper from the same DSP pack. This is used as the back drop for the stamped image and sentiment. I selected a pattern that was more of solid so the image would pop more. Cut that piece of DSP to 3″ x 3 1/2″ and adhere to front of the treat topper leaving about 1/8″ of inch at the top using multipurpose liquid adhesive.
Next, get a piece of Basic White cardstock and stamp your image. I am using the Catch You Later stamp set. You will want to use Memento Tuxedo Black ink since we are coloring this image with Stampin’ Blend Markers. Colors used: Light & Dark Crumb Cake, Light Combo and Light and Dark Just Jade.
And, then stamp your Sentiment of choice from the Catch You Later stamp set at the same time, same paper and ink.
The next step is to fussy cut around the image. You want to remove as much of the white space as possible. It will really allow that image to pop. Then adhere to the treat topper using dimensionals. Then cut each of the words out and place them on your treat topper a little hap-hazard that way you don’t have to worry about it being straight. You can skip the fussy cutting, it is up you.
Using the black and white thick twine from the Pampered Pets Trim Combo Pack, cut a piece approximately 26″ long. Wrap the twine twice around, close to the score line and tie a generous bow with long tails.
And finally, fill your cello bag with a treat and wrap the treat topper over the top and attach using a stapler. You could use tear n tape, however I think a stapler is much easier and certainly more secure.
Catch You Later is such an adorable and versatile stamp set offering fun images and sentiments it is sure to provide you many options to create a treat topper for just about any occasion.
