card instructions

Below are detailed instructions for you to also keep it simple and create this card using Sending Smiles Bundle and all the supplies can be found at the bottom of the blog post.

Cut Basic White Thick card base 5 1/2″ x 8 1/2″ and score on the long edge at 4 1/4″. Then fold card stock and burnish with bone folder.

Cut a piece of coordinating DSP at 4″ x 5 1/4″ and adhere to card front using your favorite adhesive leaving a 1/4″ frame.

Remember, you can use any Designer Series Paper (DSP) for this project, I’m using the Design a Daydream DSP which is a Host pack of paper that you can only purchase when you have earned $18 in Hostess Rewards. This paper can be found in the Annual 2022/2023 catalog from Stampin’ Up! (Note: An order must exceed $150 to earn Hostess Rewards and Rewards start at $15)

Now, cut a piece measuring 2″ x 5 1/2″ of Basic White Thick Cardstock to stamp the flower images across the bottom half (long side). Notice that I am showing you two variations of this card, one one card I used Blackberry Bliss and on the other card I used Starry Sky (this one reminds me a bit of Bluebonnets).

So, in order to get the different colors of stamped floral images, I have stamped multiples times in 1st, 2nd and 3rd generation of ink.

Next, you need to cut two strips of cardstock 1/2″ x 5 1/2″ in a coordinating color. Again, I am using Blackberry Bliss and Old Olive. Adhere this strip of cardstock to the top and bottom edge of the Basic White Thick cardstock that was stamped leaving an 1/8″ boarder on each edge. Then, adhere to the card front flat using your favorite adhesive. This is a clean and simple look.

By using large enough scraps of Basic White cardstock and the coordinating background color (Blackberry Bliss or Starry Sky) in these example images, die cut the “Sending” sentiment and background bubble. Then, adhere accordingly to get the beautiful sentiment outline to the card front using dimensionals

The last thing to do is cut a piece of Basic White Thick cardstock approximately 5/8″ by 4″. Then stamp the sentiment of your choice using either Blackberry Bliss or Starry Sky ink and then die cut the sentiment out using one of the label dies in the Sending Smiles bundle dies set. And, adhere to the card front with dimensionals.

You can also, if so desired, feel free to design something simple for the inside of your card if desired using some of the same DSP and/or stamping something inside as an additional greeting.
