Wild Cats Collection is retiring soon and I thought it would be perfect for this weeks submission to the Freshly Made Sketches – Sketch 529. This stamp set caught my eye immediately. My High School mascot was a Tiger. Go Conroe, Tigers! I love the memories it brought to mind of all my friends that special time in my life.
Sketch 529 (image below), worked perfectly for this card. Working with the Wild Cats bundle, allowed me to keep this design clean and simple and it is super quick to create.
Below is the image of this weeks Sketch 529 from Freshly Made Sketches.
Instructions
You will find a full Supply List later in this post and here are the instructions for you to create this clean, simple and quick card design.
- Cut cardstock:
– Card Base: Basic White Thick 8 1/2″ x 5 1/2″, score along long edge at 4 1/4″
– Card Front: Basic White Thick 4″ x 5 1/2″
– Stamped Images: Basic White Thick 4 1/4″ x 3″
– Sentiment: Basic White Thick 3 1/2″ x 1/2″
– Sentiment Background: Evening Evergreen 3 1/2″ x 11/16″
– Card Front: Evening Evergreen 1/4″ x 4″
– Die Cut piece: Evening Evergreen 1 1/2″ x 1 1/4″ - Cut Patterned Paper
– 2 3/8″ x 4″ Big Cats, Plant design - Basic White CS cut 4″ x 5″1/4″ emboss with Animal Print Embossing folder
- Once embossed, use water painter and Crushed Curry Classic Stamp Pad to splatter the card stock.
- Once dry adhere piece to card front
- Measure 1/4″ from the left side of the Embossed element on card front and adhere the Evening Evergreen 1/4″ x 4″ cardstock and then the Pattered paper piece 2 3/8″ x 4″ right next to it flush.
- Stamp Images:
– Take the Basic White cardstock cut for stamping images and stamp the Cat and the plant.
– First stamp the Cat in 2nd generation (stamp off once) using Crushed Curry. Take the matching stamp images for face and fur and stamp full strength where applicable. I suggest stamping this enter thing at least once on a scrap paper to practice lining up the face stamps.
– Next stamp again 2nd generation using Evening Evergreen to stamp the plan image.
Die cut the images. - Die cut the small plant element using Evening Evergreen cardstock
- Adhere the 3 1/2″ x 11/16″ Evening Evergreen strip to card front flush with right side of card base. Then take the Basic White Thick cardstock cut 3 1/2″ x 1/2″ strip and stamp the Sentiment using Evening Evergreen
- Add the Cat and the plant to the front of the card using Dimensionals. Then layer on top of the plan using dimensionals the little plan die cut piece in Evening Evergreen.
- Inside the card I adhered a few of the scrap items and stamped a coordinating Sentiment inside. And, now your card is finished.
